Gabriel Serville, president of the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana, categorically refuses to call for vaccination and irritates the health authorities of the metropolis

A snub. While more than 250 deaths due to Covid have been recorded by Public Health France (SPF) which sounds the alarm on the catastrophic situation in Guyana, the president of the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana refuses, at least for the moment, to call for vaccination, arguing that he was not elected for that.

“I cannot clearly call on the Guyanese population to be vaccinated because I am not particularly convinced that this is the right approach that I must initiate today insofar as I am telling you that this This subject was not part of my campaign and that among my majority, there are as many vaccinated people as unvaccinated people and that I have to hold on to this balanced position ”, declared Gabriel Serville. on BFMTV .

And to add: “on the other hand, what I am saying is that there are health authorities whose job it is to provide information”. In his interview with the French channel, the president of the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana believes that it is rather necessary to do a work on the reasons which push the populations to refuse to be vaccinated.

It must be said that two days ago, during her visit to RTL , Christiane Taubira, former Minister of Justice, of Guyanese origin, triggered an earthquake in the political class by openly declaring that she had not vocation to call for vaccination. Their words did not go unnoticed because on September 24, she and Gabriel Serville were the subject of virulent attacks.
