Booster Shots Fail To Keep 7 Triple Vaccinated Germans From Contracting Omicron COVID Variant
A group of seven Germans were infected with the Omicron variant in early December even after having been fully vaccinated and getting the off-lauded booster shots from Moderna, AstraZeneca and BioNTech.
“We’re seeing a lot of breakthrough infections right now,” said Wolfgang Preiser, a member of the research consortium that discovered the variant. “What we did not know is that even a booster vaccination with Biontech / Pfizer does not prevent this.
These infections are the first breakthrough infections reported with the Omicron variant in people who have already received their booster vaccinations,” reported German paper Der Tagesspiegel.
“Of course you shouldn’t misunderstand that vaccination doesn’t help. On the contrary: It only shows that even the best possible vaccination is obviously not enough to prevent infection – which we already suspected,” Preiser insisted.
Der Tagesspiegel reports that “the booster vaccinations were given to the subjects between five and ten months after the second vaccinations” and “the booster vaccinations were at least a month ago, but no more than two months ago.”
Meanwhile, BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin has declared that a new designed vaccine that can tackle the Omicron variant would need to be given in 3 doses, after taking the booster shots and initial vaccine:
“Our preliminary, first dataset indicate that a third dose could still offer a sufficient level of protection from disease of any severity caused by the Omicron variant,” Sahin said in a statement.
“Broad vaccination and booster campaigns around the world could help us to better protect people everywhere and to get through the winter season.”

This statement shows that BioNTech was already working on an “adapted” vaccine for a new variant of the coronavirus.
Sahin argued in a press conference that it was “very clear” that for their Omicron vaccine, people should be given 3 doses, rather than 2 doses.
According to the Botswana government Presidential (COVID-19) Task force press release, the first four Omicron cases in South Africa were also all fully vaccinated individuals.
Even the first infection case of Omicron in the United States was a fully vaccinated Californian individual who was returning home from South Africa.
Contrary to what we’re told the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus results in only mild disease, without prominent symptoms, according to Angelique Coetzee, the chairwoman of the South African Medical Association.
“It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well. So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer loss of taste or smell. They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home”, Coetzee said.
According to top Russian virologist the Omicron variant could actually help bring the pandemic to an end.
As per a new preliminary study by researchers from Nference, the new Omicron variant may have picked up genetic material from the virus that causes common cold. Researchers suggest that is the reason why it can have lower virulence and greater transmission rate as compared to other coronavirus variants.
