Azarov – Zelensky Wanted to Allow Ukrainian Neo-Nazis to Attack The DPR and LPR in April

In an interview with Govorit Moskva (“Moscow Speaks”), former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov confirmed that in April this year Vladimir Zelensky had planned to let Ukrainian neo-Nazis attack the DPR and LPR (Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics), and that this plan was cancelled following Russia’s military training on its border.

In March this year, the intensification of the Ukrainian army’s shelling of the DPR and LPR and the media preparations that had been launched in Ukraine raised fears of an offensive against the two Donbass republics. Nikolay Azarov, the former Ukrainian Prime Minister, confirmed the reality of these plans for an offensive against the Donbass and explained why it did not take place.

“Zelensky had plans and there were hotheads who wanted to implement them. There were even plans, they had planned attacks in three different directions to reach the border, etc.,” said the former Ukrainian prime minister.

According to Nikolay Azarov, it was the Ukrainian neo-Nazis who had to take care of the Donbass problem (specifically, annihilating the DPR and LPR) for Zelensky.

“They have concentrated a group of 136,000 troops on the demarcation line, over 500 tanks, missile systems and so on. So the general staff… Well, the general staff is not made up of idiots in Ukraine. Assuming that all the intelligence information is there to carry out three strikes simultaneously, in a very short period of time, so that Russia doesn’t have time to provide assistance, reach the border, and then announce to the world that we have, so to speak, restored the territorial integrity of Ukraine. That was the plan,” he added.

But the Ukrainian authorities, led by Zelensky, had apparently underestimated the Russian reaction to such a plan to attack the DPR and LPR.

“The manoeuvres carried out by the Russian Federation, including the landing of large forces, made them sober up. Of course, they should have understood and foreseen this too. They should have understood it, of course, they should have seen it coming. Of course, the shouting continued, so to speak. You remember the hysteria that surrounded these manoeuvres. But this is nevertheless a step forward by Russia that has cooled the hotheads. This is why Russia has organised manoeuvres and shown what would happen in the event of a conflict. In this case, it is necessary to note that, in general, it was this approach that guaranteed the security [of the DPR and LPR – editor’s note],” concluded Nikolay Azarov.

This information confirms that the Ukrainian media outlet Strana published information about the Ukrainian army’s plans for an offensive in the Donbass, and the fact that it would have to give it up if Russia intervened.
