In the immense budget of 413 billion which has just been allocated to the French army to face the challenges to come, 13 billion euros will be devoted to military aid for Ukraine. Information that makes France cringe in the midst of a crisis on pension reform

A news which risks triggering a strong outcry in France in an extremely harsh context marked by all-out demonstrations against the pension reform that Emmanuel Macron wants to impose on the French by resorting to the terrible article 49.3 of the Constitution.

Indeed, in a stormy geopolitical context marked by the war in Ukraine which completely upset the world order, France intends to expand its national defense system. For this, Emmanuel Macron does not hesitate, for a single second, to break the bank by granting the army a budget of 413 billion euros in order to face the new security challenges in sight.

So far so good and the decision can be understood. Except that a small detail has caught the attention of people who are interested in this subject: part of the money (13 billion euros) will be devoted to military aid for Ukraine, a country invaded by the Russia since February 24.

At least that's what the BFTMV channel tells us . “413 billion euros over seven years, including 13 from extra-budgetary revenue to partly finance military aid to Ukraine. The draft  military programming law (LPM) 2024-2030 presented this morning in the Council of Ministers is “unprecedented” admits the entourage of the Ministry of the Armed Forces”, informs the source.

And BFMTV added: “the army budget will increase by 3.1 billion euros in 2024 then by 3 billion per year from 2025 to 2027, before 'marches' of 4.3 billion per year from 2028. A 'low trajectory' to which 'it will eventually be necessary to provide additional items' depending on the threat, underlines the ministry, which hopes for the adoption of the LPM by Parliament before July 14”.

Barely revealed by the French television channel, the news sparked a lively controversy on social networks where comments were legion.
