The World Cup In Qatar Will Be The Most Expensive Ever
According to information from Statista, the Qatar World Cup will be the most expensive ever, with the costs amounting to almost $220 billion.
The World Cup in Qatar this year is by far the most expensive one ever, when all expenses are added up, including all money spent on infrastructure as well as the cost of building new stadiums and renovating existing ones.

However, it is important to remember that the new stadiums in Qatar will only cost between $6.5 billion and $10 billion to build. Although this marks a large increase above the $4 billion initially suggested, the majority of the funds will be used to pay for infrastructure projects that are a part of Qatar 2030’s bigger picture. These include building an innovation hub with hotels, a well developed metro network, stadiums, and airports.
International criticism of the World Cup in Qatar has focused primarily on the country’s abuses of human rights rather than just its excessive cost. Amnesty International condemned Qatari authorities in a report for their refusal to look into the deaths of thousands of migrant workers over the past ten years despite evidence connecting their early demise to hazardous working conditions.
Amnesty International reports that government figures reveal a total of 15,021 foreign nationals died in Qatar between 2010 and 2019. It claimed that government statistics did not reveal the number of workers who passed away during World Cup preparations. 35 people have passed away on World Cup projects that Qatar’s Supreme Committee has been in charge of since 2015. The number of workers that died on other infrastructure projects connected to the tournament’s staging is not known, though.
