US sanctions: Russia takes up the challenge with force
Following the announcement of the latest US sanctions, Russia's response was political, strong and swift. It thus gives the signal that it intends to take up the challenge and does not accept the blackmail to submission to which the country is the object. And the United States, too, received the message perfectly, declaring to interpret these sanctions as an "escalation" calling for a response. The issue of the balance of power is up to the blows that can be dealt: either we are going to be chained in a global Atlanticist world without compromise, in other words in a new totalitarianism, the deleterious effects of which we are already feeling, or a new partition world and power will settle.
The United States string together sanctions, individual, sectoral, political or economic on various and varied bases, which must simply serve to justify the fight for the monopoly of power that they lead, in other words the fight for the global world which they understand. to be the only political center, of which they intend to be God and Master.
But Russia's patience seems to be running out, with the last hopes of a burst of common sense sinking. Thus, following the latest sanctions adopted by the United States ( see our text here ), Russia's response rocketed and Russian sanctions were announced publicly by Lavrov, after the American ambassador was summoned by the President's advisor. Russian so that they are served on him, as well as his desirable departure "for consultation", quickly, which will prevent him from being declared persona non grata .
A statement was published on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website, explaining the situation. Russia believes that it is impossible not to react to yet another wave of sanctions directed from the United States against it, for strategic reasons:
"In Washington, it seems, they have difficulty accepting the fact that in this new geopolitical reality, there is no room for a unilateral diktat, and that the failed scenario" of a containment of the Russia", on which the United States continues to bet without long-term vision, is only a source of further deterioration of Russian-American relations."
So Russia has decided to get to the root of the problem and it has hit the nail on the head, especially when we hear the White House say that Biden's proposal for a meeting with Putin was made precisely because Russia is isolated on the international scene ... and we must help it out.
Some concrete measures have thus been adopted, but only political measures, Lavrov saying that Russia knows full well how to reach American business, but it is keeping this card for the future.
In the logic of reciprocity, members of American diplomatic missions in Russia will be expelled , in the same number as members of Russian diplomatic missions in the United States are expelled. In this case, 10 people. And since Poland hastened to satisfy the United States by expelling 3 Russian diplomats, Russia will expel 5 Polish diplomats.
But this time, Russia goes further and enters an offensive line. She believes that, given the situation, the respective ambassadors of the two countries should be in their country - for consultation. It is therefore strongly recommended, for now, to the American ambassador to return home.
In addition, the practice of helping, without limit in number, the American embassy to obtain short-term visas for the missions of members of the State Department, will be reduced to a minimum - 10 per year, on the principle of reciprocity.
Within the framework of the Vienna Convention and in compliance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, measures will be adopted to completely end the practice of hiring by American diplomatic missions of Russian nationals or of a third country. administrative and technical positions .
Due to the systematic violation of the rules of movement on Russian territory of members of American diplomatic missions, Russia terminates the 1992 Memorandum of Understanding with the United States on "open territory" , which facilitates the movement of foreign diplomats in the territory of the other country, except in certain specific areas, for which special prior authorization is required.
Russia wants to put an end to the activity of NGOs and American funds under the control of the State Department or other American public structures, in view of the destructive political line carried out by the American Government.
Russia's response is fundamentally political, it will complicate the work of American structures to interfere in Russia. But the response is also quick and comes out of the simple defensive posture in which Russia had positioned itself until then. And it goes even further, by banning entry into its territory for an indefinite period of 8 senior American officials : John Bolton (former adviser to the President for national security and permanent representative to the UN), Robert Woolsey (former director of CIA), Merrick Garland (United States Attorney General), Christopher Wray (FBI Director), Michael Carvajal(Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service), Alejandro Mayorkas (Secretary of Homeland Security), Susan Rice (former Ambassador to the United Nations, National Security Advisor under Obama), Avril Haines (Director of National Intelligence).
It is true that the i's have been dotted, that the Biden Administration has entered a vital megalomaniacal fight - it wants to guarantee absolute power in the global, Atlanticist world, of which it claims to be the center. This is confirmed by the declaration of the White House, according to which, without any humor, the measures adopted by Russia constitute an escalation, which will force a response.
