Who Really Runs the United States?
What would you say is the most powerful building in the world?
Maybe the White House. This would make sense. The president is the world’s most powerful person and he lives and works in the White House.
But how powerful is the president really?
Since 2016, President Donald Trump has been crippled by accusations of Russia collusion that resulted in surveillance, impeachment and hostile media coverage that saw the GOP get slaughtered in the 2018 midterms.
And then in 2020, despite getting a record number of in-person votes, he would end up losing the election later that night when millions of mail-in ballots went to his opponent Joe Biden.
So two things were more powerful than the president: 1) the accusations of Russian collusion, and 2) the changes to election laws that created millions of unprecedented mail-in ballots.
Now what if I told you those two things came from the same place. The same building actually.
Just two blocks from the White House — an 8 minute walk — there is a law firm that was responsible for the Russian conspiracy theory AND the election lawsuits that led to all of those mail-in ballots.
This is Perkins Coie, and their building at 700 13th NW in Washington DC is the most powerful building in the world.
In March this year, Christopher Steele, the author of the now-debunked Steele Dossier, testified under oath in London that it was Perkins Coie who paid for the Dossier.
In 2016, Steele was in the law firm’s Washington office meeting with partner Marc Elias, who was then the general counsel for Hilary Clinton’s campaign, at around the same time Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann was seeding the Russian conspiracy to the New York Times, Slate and a former colleague in the FBI named James Baker.
The rest, as they say, is history.
The Dossier triggered surveillance, the Mueller investigation and impeachment in the House, while the media saturated the country with disinformation that, even today, is still believed by half of voters.
All of this from one law firm working for Clinton and the DNC.
But Perkins Coie wouldn’t stop with the Dossier.
Trump remained stubbornly popular with the Republican base. They would be crawling over broken glass to vote for him in 2020.
Something else had to be done about the next election.
The laws that have traditionally governed election security in the US are similar to laws in every other modern nation. Proof of residence, photo ID, signature checks, vote by mail only as a last resort and transparent vote counts.
The Democrat party and their affiliated activist groups have been chipping away at those laws for years. But then Covid arrived, and there was a perfect opportunity to stop chipping away at election security, and blow it up instead.
Key battleground states were suddenly hit by dozens of lawsuits.
On the surface they would be filed by local groups like the Pennsylvania Alliance for Retired Americans, but look behind the curtain and there you will find Democrat super PACS like Priorities USA and Soros-funded activists like Democracy Alliance.
And the firm filing these lawsuits?
Perkins Coie.
In Wisconsin, Perkins Coie acted for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, a group led by former Attorney General Eric Holder.
In Nevada they successfully blocked an attempt that would have required photo ID when voting in person.
And in Michigan and state after state, Marc Elias and his law firm Perkins Coie filed over 50 lawsuits that dismantled the rules that had been standard practice in America and were still so in democracies around the world.
The election chaos that continues even now originated with these lawsuits.
Perkins Coie was the key player behind the Russian disinformation campaign in 2016 and the ugly election of 2020.
Their office on 13th St NW in Washington had in many ways demonstrated more raw power over the country than the White House itself.
But there’s still a bit more to the story.
While the election was determined by fallout from the Russian conspiracy and the flood of mail-in ballots, these factors along wouldn’t have been enough without money.
And the 2020 election had a lot of it. It set a record for spending at $14 billion, most of it by Democrats who spent twice as much as Republicans.
A search through the PACS, super PACS and various dark money groups that funneled all of this money to campaigns around the country kept turning up a familiar name.
Perkins Coie.
The OpenCorprates database showed over 50 of these PACs, whether they were focused on campaigns in place like Nevada or Georgia, were actually registered to the law firm’s address in Washington.
Several are PACs created by George Soros like Law & Justice PAC, Justice & Public Safety Action Fund, Black Voters Matter Action PAC and Democracy PAC.
According to InfluenceWatch, Soros gave Perkins Coie $5 million to fund lawsuits against election security.
Perkins Coie has come a long way since 2016.
This year, they have already received $49.5 million from Democrat groups, more than double what they took in when partner Marc Elias was general counsel for Hilary’s campaign.
Things are going so well that they they recently took over another floor at their office near the White House.
In just four years, Perkins Coie hatched a Russian conspiracy that crippled a newly elected US president and almost single-handedly dismantled the security of American elections.
They more than anyone have determined who will be the next person to enter the Oval Office.
