In the wake of US plan to announce its decision on Iran Nuclear deal on Tuesday, president of the Islamic Republic Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran will pursue "constructive relations with the world" but will act based on its interests.

"If we are under sanctions or not, we should stand on our own feet. This is very important for the development of our country," Rouhani said in a meeting with oil managers in Tehran.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Tehran's "fierce reaction to the violation of the nuclear deal with the major powers will not be pleasant for the US."

US President Donald Trump has consistently called the Iran deal "horrible." On January 30, Trump asked the Congress to address the flaws in the "terrible Iran nuclear deal," after in late October, the US president refused to re-certify the nuclear deal, accusing Tehran of violating the spirit of the agreement.

Recently, Bahram Qasemi, a spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry, said that Tehran is prepared for all scenarios when Trump decides whether to renew sanctions waivers on May 12.

The foreign ministers of Germany, the United Kingdom and France have issued a joint statement saying their countries will stay in the JCPOA even if the United States pulls out of it.

The JCPOA was signed by Iran with the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom and France — the five permanent members of the UN Security Council — plus Germany and the European Union in Vienna on July 14, 2015.
