Blair's 'deal in blood' with George Bush over the 2002 Iraqi war
A memo 'from the White House was revealed for the first time about the "bloody agreement" forged between Tony Blair and George Bush about the Iraq war.
The sensational leak presents Tony Blair giving its unqualified agreement to enter into conflict with Iraq, a year before the invasion had begun.
It contradicts the statement of the prime minister at the time who supposedly sought a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
He told his constituents: "We are not proposing military action." Totally the opposite of what the secret email revealed.
The classified document also reveals that Blair had agreed to act as a communications specialist for the US President by presenting "public affairs" to convince the skeptical public that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction . This was never the case.
In return, President flattered Blair giving it the impression that Britain is not just a US vassal but a worthy partner belonging to the "circle of friends".
The memo, which was passed by George Bush's Secretary of State Colin Powell, was written on March 28th, 2002, a week before the famous summit at Crawford ranch in Texas.
Inside, Powell told Bush that Blair "will be with us" on the military field. Powell reassured the President that: "The United Kingdom will follow our guidelines. "
