An Israeli tech company has unveiled a new portable radar system that utilizes artificial intelligence to distinguish between people and animals and can detect living things through solid walls. The creators of Xaver 1000 describe it as “essential” and a “game changer” for anything from urban combat by special forces to search and rescue operations.
According to Camero-Tech, the new device offers “an AI-based tracking of live target patterns.” The Xaver 1000 can distinguish between adults, children, and animals, according to the Israeli military contractor based in Kfar Netter, close to Netanya. It also delivers “an unprecedented resolution of body parts and position: sitting, standing, lying down, and the height of live objects.”
The device is “a true game-changer for special forces and law enforcement teams conducting urban and rural operations that require reliable information regarding hidden live objects,” according to Amir Beeri, CEO and founder of Camero.
In a number of operational scenarios, such as hostage rescue situations, the Xaver “determines the most suitable approach to ensure successful life-saving missions,” according to Beeri.
According to Camero-Tech, Xaver 1000 can “see” through the majority of typical building materials. It is portable and has direct and remote wi-fi control capabilities for a single user. According to the company, one of the features is an integrated touch-screen that can render a 3D display of both living things and objects, when put against a wall or from a close distance. For the purposes of analysis, debriefing, and training, data can be recorded and played.
The Xaver was exhibited by Camero-Tech during the Eurosatory 2022 military technology show, which took place earlier this month in Paris, France.
From the handheld “presence of life detector” to the LR80 remote sensor, the device incorporates many of the capabilities of earlier Xaver series products.
