The unparalleled achievement of flying suit creator Richard Browning has landed him right into the book of Guinness World Records.
British entrepreneur Richard Browning, known for building a body-controlled jet engine powered suit, established a new record for developing the fastest speed in his game-changing invention. During his attempt to make history the founder and chief test pilot of tech company Gravity Industries developed an impressive speed of 51.53 kmph (32.02 mph).
The record, which took place on November 7 in Reading, Berkshire, was verified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Browning's suit, called "Daedalus," is made up of a specially designed exoskeleton and six kerosene-fueled micro gas turbines, each having 22 kilos of thrust. There is also a display screen inside the helmet, which gives updates on fuel consumption. The flight path is controlled by human body movement alone —no remote control device is used.
